Community and Non Profit Support
Darlene Castro-Easterling has always been involved in community and nonprofit support. Darlene was the chairman for the American Heart Association's "Dance for Heart" in the early 1980's, creating a dance exercise event to raise funds for AHA.
Darlene's Dance 'N' Such organized many dance performances for the community at local malls and schools bringing dance to the public during the studio's 20 years in business.
Darlene is the founder of The Teen Dance Company of the Bay Area, a nonprofit dance company for high school dancers preparing them for university studies in dance. TDC is fortunate to have many of their alumni now working professionally in dance. Teen Dance Company participated in many community performances and events.
Darlene supports BEMOVING a nonprofit dance company. BEMOVING's mission is to educate and share the art of dance through the internet and live performances.
Darlene supports Black Lives Matter and the Black Theatre Union.
Darlene has offered a weekly free pilates mat class helping to support the health of our community while we were Sheltered In Place. These were offered through Avenue Pilates HMB.
